Some people are still using PRP. Many have switched to PRF which has no blood thinners or additives. PRF forms a fibrin clot in vivo on its own since there is no blood thinner. No additives thus are ever needed.
However, for those still using PRP often they are told to “activate” it with calcium to overcome the blood thinners like heparin or sodium citrate.
This article explains why this DOES NOT WORK.
Often I hear in clinics: “The rep of my PRP system said if I activate it with Ca - it is the same as PRF or PRFm”.
This is NOT the Case.
PRF and PRP are very different spins and thus results.
